Allianz working with icare to complete its NSW workers' compensation scheme transition

10 May 2018

Allianz will be completing its role as a transition partner with icare by 31 December 2018, following icare’s move into the next phase of its transition for the NSW Workers' Compensation Scheme.

Allianz’s claims will start to be transferred to two continuing agents from the second half of this year.

We will continue to work closely with icare and all stakeholders to ensure all parties are kept informed throughout this process.

Helen Silver, Allianz Chief General Manager Workers' Compensation said: “We continue to have a strong working relationship with icare and while we are not continuing our participation in the broader scheme, we are committed to delivering on commitments in other areas. As part of this, Allianz is currently working with icare on a pilot for large corporate employers to continue providing workers' compensation services within the icare model. Our focus is on ensuring we provide the best support to workers, as well as our own employees.”

“Our NSW team is proud of our success in ensuring workers can return to their normal health and activities as soon as possible.”

“As well as our strong heritage, which has seen us support workers for over a century, we continue to lead the industry in our unique whole-of-person programs. We recognise that a focus on more than just the physical injury is needed to effectively support workers and reduce the risk of secondary psychological conditions and we are proud of the work we are doing in this space to help employees and employers.”

Ms Silver encouraged current icare workers and employers to get in touch with their dedicated account manager or case manager if they have any questions. Allianz remains committed to providing workers' compensation insurance to Australian employers. Allianz continues to operate in Victoria, Western Australia, Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania and Northern Territory, as well as manage claims for a number of NSW Government agencies. Allianz also offers self-insurance solutions in all states where this option is available.

Allianz looks forward to continuing providing high quality workers' compensation services to workers and employers across Australia.
