Thank you for choosing us for your insurance. Whether you renew yearly or monthly, here’s how to manage your cover for the things that matter most to you.
Yearly renewals
If you don't need to make any changes to your policy, you can renew and pay securely online anytime. You'll need your Biller Reference Number (BRN).
Manage your policy in My Allianz
In My Allianz, you can review and update your Car, Home, Landlord or Renter Insurance details. To keep everything up to date, make any changes before your policy expires.
After checking your details, you can renew Home or Car Insurance policies starting with AALHH, AALMV, or BC in My Allianz.
To renew all other policies, you can make a payment securely online.
Find your BRN
Your BRN is a reference number shown on your renewal notice email or letter. For NSW CTP Insurance, it's on your Green Slip Certificate.

You can manage your Car, Home, Landlord or Renter Insurance details in My Allianz.
Understanding your premium
Many factors can influence the price of your insurance policy, such as insurance costs and government charges. We explain how we work out your premium and why it can change.
Ways to reduce your Home, Landlord, or Car Insurance premium
You might like to consider lowering your premium in the following ways. These policy updates aren’t available for Comprehensive Essentials or Third Party Property Damage Insurance.
Increase your excess
Choosing a higher excess amount may help lower your monthly or annual premiums.1
Review your optional covers
Adjusting your optional covers to match your current needs may help lower your premium.
Check your sum insured
Check your replacement costs. If you have too much insurance, reducing your sum insured may lower your premium.

Yes, you can update your coverage or add optional covers. If you’d like to make changes to your policy, give us a call on 13 1000. If your Car or Home Insurance policy number begins with AALHH or AALMV, you can update your insurance online through My Allianz.
If you miss the renewal deadline, call us on 13 1000 as soon as possible to discuss your options. We may cancel your cover if we don’t hear from you. If you pay your insurance monthly and miss two payments in a row, we may cancel your cover.
If you miss your Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance renewal deadline, don’t drive until you’ve paid for insurance and renewed your registration. Remember, you can be fined for driving an unregistered vehicle. Also, if your vehicle is five years old or more, check your registration notice to see if you need a safety inspection. You may need a pink slip before renewing your registration.
We’ll send your receipt by email after payment. If it’s not in your inbox, it might be in your spam folder.
If you need a receipt for your NSW CTP Insurance, you’ll need your Green Slip Certificate. This is so we can verify your details.
Car Insurance policies
If your policy number starts with AALMV or BC, you can renew it in My Allianz. Depending on your policy, you can also update your car details, change your payment method, and more.
To renew all other policies, you can make a payment securely online.
You’ll usually need to pay an excess when you make a claim. An Under 25 Driver excess may also apply. You’ll find your excess amount on your policy documents.
Other common situations where you’ll usually pay an excess for a Comprehensive Car Insurance claim include the following:
- An incident where you or the driver of your car is at fault
- Where you’re not at fault, but you don’t have the at fault person’s details or their details are incorrect
- A weather event, such as hail, damages your vehicle
- Your car is stolen and written off
- Your windscreen is damaged – unless you’ve bought optional no excess for windscreen damage only claims cover
- Your car hits an animal, such as a kangaroo
For more information, read our car insurance excess guide.
Whether we can arrange a rental car depends on which policy you have and if you were at fault.
- Comprehensive Insurance offers an option to add rental car cover after any covered incident.
- Comprehensive Essentials Insurance doesn’t include this option.
If you’ve got Comprehensive Insurance and have taken out the optional rental car after any covered incident cover, you’ll receive a rental car.
We can also arrange a rental car under both policies if you weren’t at fault and have the following information:
- Proof that the collision was caused by someone else
- The contact details for the person at fault
Before you book a rental car, call us for approval on 13 10 13. If you book without approval, we’ll pay for rental car costs up to the amount we would have authorised. If your car is safe to drive or isn’t at a repair shop, we won’t arrange a hire car.
Home Insurance policies
If your policy number starts with AALHH, you can renew it in My Allianz. You can also update your policy, payment or personal details if needed.
To renew all other policies, you can make a payment securely online.
When you combine Buildings and Contents on one Home Insurance policy, you can get a discount of up to 10% on your premium. This discount also applies to the optional Motor Burnout and Accidental Damage covers. However, the combined discount doesn’t apply to Landlord policies, any flood component of the premium, or to the optional cover Portable contents.2,3

Life Insurance policies
Life Insurance doesn't have a traditional renewal process like other types of insurance. This is because Life Insurance policies have continuous contracts. Your contract will continue until your policy expires, or you cancel it, or it lapses due to non-payment.
As you don’t need to renew your Life Insurance, your premiums will continue. We’ll deduct your payments on a monthly or annual direct debit from your credit card or bank account.
If you need to update your details, call us on 13 1000.

*Conditions apply
- Option to change your excess
Home: Not available with respect to any additional compulsory excess, imposed excess applied to the policy or to the Portable contents excess (if Portable contents is selected). Any reduction in premium will not be applied to government taxes and charges, any flood component of the premium (where covered) or to the optional cover Portable contents (if selected). Minimum premiums apply.
Landlord: Not available with respect to any additional compulsory excess, or to the imposed excess applied to the policy. Any reduction in premium will not be applied to government taxes and charges, any flood component of the premium (where covered), and the Theft by tenant part of the optional cover Rent Default and Theft by Tenant (if selected). Minimum premiums apply.
- Minimum premiums may apply
Any discounts may be subject to rounding and only apply to the extent that any minimum premium isn't reached. If you’re eligible for more than one discount, Allianz applies them in a predetermined order. This means the effect of applying any subsequent discount will be reduced. For example, the aggregate effect of applying two discounts consecutively means that you won't see the full benefit of both these discounts.
Discounts don't apply to taxes or government charges. - Combined Discounts
A discount of up to 10% is applied to your premium when you combine Buildings and Contents on one Home Insurance policy, including for the following optional covers (if selected): Motor Burnout and Accidental Damage cover. The combined discount doesn't apply to Landlord policies, any flood component of the premium (where covered), or to the optional cover Portable Contents (if selected). Minimum premiums may apply.
