- Allianz Disaster & Recovery Team has been assisting customers face to face in recovery centres from Townsville to Cardwell

Allianz continues to provide vital support to customers impacted by the recent severe floods in Townsville and surrounding regions, with a particular focus on customers experiencing vulnerability.
Two weeks into the response efforts, the Allianz Disaster & Recovery Team (DaRT) have been supporting customers in recovery centres in Townsville, Ingham and Cardwell, registering claims, making payments, arranging assessments, meeting with customers face to face, finding and placing people in emergency and temporary accommodation, through to identifying and supporting customers with vulnerability.
This has included outbound welfare phone calls to customers over the age of 75 to check on their wellbeing, provide an opportunity for customers to ask about the claims process and help them to proactively lodge a claim.
The welfare calls that the Allianz DaRT team make to older Australians are crucial, as they not only give the team an opportunity to check in personally on their wellbeing, but this demographic are particularly susceptible to scams where third parties may offer to manage claims on their behalf, particularly following a natural disaster.
To date, Allianz has received a total of approximately 1000 claims.

The DaRT team currently have a base at Ingham TAFE and are assisting customers across the region.
